Our history at a glance  
1810 Establishment in Kassel of a cannon and bell casting workshop by George Ch. K. Henschel.
1925 Georg Ch. K. Henschel starts building trucks.
1969 Plant purchased by Daimler-Benz AG, which establishes Hanomag-Henschel Fahrzeugwerke GmbH.
1970 Expansion of the Kassel site as the central commercial vehicles production plant of Daimler-Benz AG.
1996 Beginning of trailer axle production, based on the disk brake technology introduced by Daimler-Benz.
2001 1.5 million commercial vehicle axles with disc brakes produced at the Kassel plant. Production start-up of the DLS steering axle.
2003 Successful market launch of the Durable Compact Axle (DCA).
2005 DCA enhanced to create the weight-optimised DCA Weightmaster.
2006 Start of series production of the DCA Megamaster. Presentation of the DCA Airmaster as a product innovation at the commercial vehicles IAA in Hanover. Construction of the plant’s 300,000th trailer axle.
2007 Trailer axles marketed under the new name of Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems. Product presentation debut of the DCA Steermaster.
2008 On 2 January 2008, start of series production of the DCA Airmaster. A total of over 15 million commercial vehicle axles have now been produced at the Kassel plant.
2010 The MercedesServiceCard for Mercedes-Benz trailer axles was presented at IAA 2010.
2011 Commencement of production of DCA Steermaster on 2 March 2011.
