A responsible attitude towards the environment and the use of resources in our development and production activities is an integral and self-evident part of our business approach. Protection of the environment has in fact been an important priority for decades at the Mercedes-Benz axle production plant in Kassel – not just as one in a long list of objectives, but as a key element of a business strategy and environmental policy focused on generating and adding value over the long-term.

For more than twelve years we have commissioned voluntary audits of our environmental performance and work structures at Kassel, as the basis for the ongoing testing and enhancement of environmental protection at our production site. Through always meeting the high requirements of the regularly, internationally recognized and demanding audits ISO 14001/EMAS III we confirmed the continuous success of the environmental management system introduced in 1995.

We participate actively in dialogue on the environmental impacts from our production activity, along with the ongoing formulation and monitoring of environmental targets for the promotion of environmental protection in and around the plant. Through constant development and enhancement of our products and production activity, we will continue to honour our obligation to conserve and respect our environment.
